Rob is a tattoo artist residing in Virginia Beach. He currently does custom tattoos as well as that old peace symbol you chose out of a tattoo flash book. Who is Rob Sea?
I’m a 23 year old male who’s life revolves around freedom and art.
What inspired you to become a tattoo artists?
Actually my close friend Guedo Fanony (web designer) inspired me to become a tattoo artist. I can honestly say everything I am is a result of his inspiration and good character.
What is your favorite part about tattooing?
the expierence with the client and the impact i will have made on him/her.
What is your favorite tattoo you have done?
I would have to go with one of my earliest tattoo’s on a close friend it is an upper back piece with roses and a banner saying “runaway”.
What is the hardest part about your job?
Kind of contradicting but also the clients and some of the unpleasent ideas and designs they bring me.
What is your favorite tattoo style?
So far in my career I love doing traditional style tattooing but I have an open mind and that could change with time and expierence.
Who is your favorite Artist?
I can not honestly name just one, but heres six: Nick Baxter, Adam Barton, Donovan Andrews, Derek Noble, Clay welch, and jeff Gogue.
What is your favorite art medium other than tattooing?
That is honeslty something that is constantly changing as i explore the other mediums. I just started at the art institute and honestly i love using red chalk, graphite, and really interested in pursuing painting.
Where are you currently working?
Virginia Beach Ink.
What do you do in your spare time?
I don’t even know what that is. I travel a lot, and I enjoy new people, but as far as free time I’m usually drawing and drawing and drawing.
What kind of music do you like?
it would be easier to tell you what I don’t like and that consist mostly of country. I love alternative, Indie, punk, and folk. anything really that inspires me.
Do you still see yourself tattooing in ten years?
Yes I do. it’s a lot of hard work and i’m not going to stop.
What would you say to someone trying to get into the tattoo business?
Don’t get discouraged, and start thinking tribal is cool becuase you’ll be doing a lot of it, and stars.
Whats something most people don’t know about you?
I guess I’ll just throw it out there. I’m 23 and I have a twin sister. I’m a marine corps veteran. Eventually I will leave everyone in my life.
